Topcon has a long history as a technology development leader in the optical, mechanical and electronic industries. Today, many consumer products, especially those relating to optics, owe some part of their success to Topcon. SLR (single lens reflex) technology found in just about every 35mm camera manufactured today is a Topcon patent. Many of the copiers in offices around the world contain Topcon lens technology. Optometrists recognize Topcon as a leader in vision technology. Topcon even manufactures Electron Microscopes for the scientific industry. But what does this have to do with Construction Lasers? Well, actually quite a lot.
Some of the innovative features seen in Topcon construction lasers have their beginnings as a direct result of breakthroughs in products developed outside of the Construction Laser division. Many others were developed as a direct result of recognizing a need, and dedicating the resources to overcome it. As was mentioned at the beginning of this overview, all tools have their limitations. Lasers are no exception. But at Topcon we view these limitations a little differently. We consider them an opportunity for improvement. We think it shows in the advancements we've introduced in our relatively short history. We intend to continue on the path of innovation.
